There are a number of exams required for nursing licensing and certification, depending on the type of nursing profession desired and the specialty a nurse wishes to pursue. To become a licensed nurse, candidates have to take the NCLEX-RN for registered nurses and the NCLEX-PN for practical nurses. There is the CNA exam to become a certified nurse assistant.
