In elementary school, students learn basic arithmetic, including number recognition, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, algebra, fractions and decimals. Students begin with very simple math functions, and then learn the progressively more challenging concepts. Testing is done often so that a teacher can ensure all students have mastered the concept before moving on to something more difficult.
