The field of social work is regulated by a professinal association, the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). The ASWB developes and adminiisters examinations that lead to licensing of social workers. There are four different levels of examination: Bachelors, Masters, Advanced Generalist and Clinical. The exams are multiple-choice with 150 questions that are scored. A candidate is given 4 hours to complete the exam. The ASWB exam is given in 200 centers throughout the United States.
