Advanced Placement (AP) tests are administered to students to determine if they qualify for advanced college level standing or to grant college credits. Tests are offered in 34 different subject areas, and if a student scores high enough on an AP exam, they may be granted credit for that particular course in college and not have to take it to graduate. AP exams are offered in high school to seniors who have taken AP classes. Tests are multiple choice and fill in the blank, and take anywhere from two to three hours to complete. Find out more about the AP test with The Guide to AP and CLEP Tests.
